The best thing about yesterday's repugnant (and self-destructive) Donald Trump press conference in the Rose Garden was the fact that journalists 1) talked back and 2) had each other's backs.
After Trump insulted CBS reporter Weijia Jiang with the racist comment, "Ask China that question," Jiang asked, "Why are you saying that to me, specifically"? When Trump tried to wiggle away by calling on CNN's Kaitlin Collins, Collins tossed the question back to Jiang, after which Yamiche Alcindor of PBS deferred to Collins. Cornered, Trump ended the session and stormed away.
