As the world convulses, burns and (in the UK's case) edges toward fascism, a startling reminder of the past: The man who took this photograph just died at the age of 94.
We cats had no idea he would have still been with us. But Orlando Suero was a young, up-and-coming photographer who got to spend a couple of days with Senator and Mrs. John F. Kennedy at their Georgetown home in 1954. This was just one gorgeous result.
Just when you think that the grace and intelligence of eras past couldn't be farther away, they suddenly pop into the garish present. We choose to savor the intrusion, and we PURR.
