Republicans who supported the treasonous insurrection against democracy — both after Election Day 2020 and on January 6 — are trying to weasel out of questions by the media. GOP Congressman Lee Zeldin is a case in point. "Can you state unequivocally that Joe Biden won the election?" asked POLITICO's Ryan Lizza. "Biden is President," Zeldin answered.

Lizza tried pushing Zeldin to say more, but the damage was already done, because he asked the question wrong. In fact, he asked it backward. The question should have been:

"Did Donald Trump win the 2020 election?"

Zeldin would have tried to wriggle away with the same lame answer, of course. At which point Lizza should have followed up with:

"How many millions of votes did he win by? What states did he carry? What was the final Electoral College count? What evidence do you have of all this, and of that evidence exists, why did Trump lose more than 60 court cases about the election?"

In other words, make the repulsive Zeldin and his fellow Republicans own the question. Somewhere along the way, their responses will make Benedict Donald very, very, very mad. That would make us cats PURR.
