The investigation into the January 6 Trump insurrection continues to move forward. Now the country has learned the FBI has cellphone metadata showing members of Congress in contact with the rioters — both before and during the attack on the Capitol. It's tempting to imagine who those members might be.
House suspects would have to include Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, Andy Biggs, Mo Brooks, Matt Gaetz, Paul Gosar, Madison Cawthorn — and heck, maybe even our own Congresswoman, Elise Stefanik. Because Elise has gone from pretending to be a reach-across-the-aisle-bipartisan-champion to off-the-wall, deep-end Trumpster in less than six years.
On the Senate side, you can easily imagine Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz on the list. The Senator from Missouri, in fact, has become such a fascist that our nickname for him now is Lord Haw-Haw-Hawley.
Tonight on CNN, Democratic Congressman Jason Crow said that he believed he was serving alongside people who are depraved. He clearly felt they were a danger to him and other Democrats. It's not clear where this is all taking us, but it can't be good. We salute Congressman Crow and members like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (above) — for refusing to be intimidated, and doing their jobs, no matter what. We cats PURR.
