That Chip-on-the-Shoulder Attitude

By Zamboni

If we cats could cluck "tsk tsk" with our scratchy little tongues, we'd do it, and you can guess why. That disastrous Republican interview!

Sarah Palin's with Katie Couric, you ask? Oh, no — although that's surely been one for the record books. No, we're talking about John McCain's encounter yesterday with the editorial board of The Des Moines Register.

How many adjectives can we come up with to describe Senator McCain in this interview? Dismissive. Unpleasant. Intolerant. Peeved. Sarcastic. Sneering. Oh, and the fact that he behaved this way to a female questioner also caught our attention.

We cats arch our backs and HISS. We know we've said it before, but this is one guy whose finger we don't want anywhere near the nuclear button. Not only is his recent behavior distasteful and erratic, we question his judgment. Why is he spending so much time in a state that it appears he's going to lose?

As Meredith Willson might say, the McCain candidacy right now is as cold as a falling thermometer in December.
