We cats don't even have to visit our favorite crazy right-wing friends over at Free Republic to know that their heads must be exploding over this.
Rev. Jim Tenford of Moose Jaw's St. Andrew's United Church observed Pride Week with an open letter to the Saskatchewan town's gay community, asking them to excuse his church's history of intolerance:
"Another important part of Christianity is forgiveness," Tenford wrote,"and so I ask you
something which maybe I have no right to ask. I ask that you forgive the
church and those of us who claim to follow the Way of Christ. As in so
many other matters of civil rights that humanity has struggled with, the
church has often been slow to get on board. But once we do, we can be
powerful allies."
