We cats have decided that we hate the press.
Wow, what a change. We grew up despising Nixon and the Republicans, and cheering for The Washington Post, Kay Graham, Ben Bradlee, Woodward & Bernstein, The New York Times, Dan Rather, Daniel Schorr, et. al. They were the heroes, defending America, and Jason Robards won an Oscar to prove it.
We still believe that a free press can make a difference. However, we're not sure that the press believes in us.
Latest case in point: Susan Glasser and Peter Baker, husband-and-wife team who are reporting on Trump's rape of democracy. Except they're saving all their juicy bits for a book, which will be published in September. We're also not pleased to hear that Bob Woodward is going to release some more tapes of Benedict Donald, betraying the nation. Why didn't he release them before? Oh, because of a book deal.
JOURNALISTS, HEAR US: Report in real time, or don't report at all. You are despicable and pathetic, and we hate you. We cats obviously HISS.
