"Country First," My Aunt Fanny (Part II)

By Baxter

Forget Sarah Palin. Forget her extreme positions, her nutbag family, her Caribou Barbie image. She's a distraction that Karl Rove would dearly love us to engage in.

The real question is about Senator McCain's judgment.

A selection of one's Vice President is the most telling decision a Presidential candidate can make. As former Vice President Walter Mondale points out, is the V.P candidate ready for Presidency? How, if any way, does she strengthen the President? And how does she strengthen the President's powers abroad?

We cats think that Senator Biden passes these tests with flying colors. Governor Palin — um, not so much.

Just our opinion. But to whom would you really want to entrust the future of the United States? A 72-year-old cancer survivor who made an impulsive decision? Or to the cool, clear seeker of wisdom and truth?
